Horizon League Semifinals Recap: Northern Kentucky 84, Youngstown St. 74

Northern Kentucky led throughout in an 84-74 win over Youngstown St. in the Horizon League Semifinals Monday night at Joe Louis Arena. Drew McDonald’s 17 first-half points helped stake NKU to a 42-27 halftime lead. The Penguins would get within five points late but a Dantez Walton three with 1:38 left pushed the Norse (23-10) lead back to eight and secured the victory. It was another strong shooting night for Norse. They shot 50% from the field and 48% (13-for-27) from the 3-point line. McDonald led the way with 26 points and Lavone Holland II added 20. Cam had 28 point to lead YSU (13-21).
