Game 8 Recap: Northern Kentucky 72, Norfolk St. 61

Northern Kentucky opened up a 16-point halftime lead and collected a 72-61 road win against Norfolk St. Saturday night. The Spartans fought back in the second half and were within three at 58-55 with less than four minutes to play. But Lavone Holland knocked down a 3-pointer and the Norse were on their way to a 5-3 record. Holland led NKU with 20 points and Drew McDonald added 18 breaking his streak of five straight 20-point games. Jonathan Wade led Norfolk St. (2-7) with 21 points.
