Game 5 Recap: Vermont 66, Northern Kentucky 64
A Trae Bell-Haynes basket with 2.7 seconds left pushed Vermont to a 66-64 win over Northern Kentucky in the Islands of the Bahamas Showcase Championship Game Sunday night. The Catamounts (3-1) trailed by 13 with 9:02 play before going on a 20-5 run to finish the game. Lavone Holland led NKU (4-1) with 14 points while Carson Williams and Drew McDonald added 12 and 10 points, respectively. Vermont’s Anthony Lamb was game-high scorer with 26 points and Bell-Haynes finished with 19. The Catamounts turned a 38-20 rebounding edge into a 16-2 advantage in 2nd chance points.
