Game 29 Recap: Northern Kentucky 79, UIC 72

Northern Kentucky fought off a late UIC charge for a 79-72 win Friday night at UIC Pavilion. The Norse (21-8, 14-3 Horizon) bolted out to a 41-26 halftime lead but the Flames (17-13, 12-5) climbed all the way back to tie the game at 61 with 5:31 remaining. Drew McDonald and Jordan Garnett then buried consecutive 3-point shots to key an 8-0 run and the Norse held on for the win. Lavone Holland II led all scorers with 25 points. Tai Odiase paced five Flames in double figures with 14 points. The win gave the Norse at least a share of the Horizon League Regular-Season Title. They can clinch it ouright and secure an NIT bid with a win Sunday at IUPUI.
