Game 23 Recap: Valparaiso 65, Northern Kentucky 58

Northern Kentucky’s comeback bid fell short as the Norse lost at Valparaiso 65-58 Sunday afternoon. Despite being down by as many as 14 points in the first half, NKU closed to within 38-37 at halftime. Valpo would push that lead back to 10 midway through the second half but the Norse again battled back. A 12-4 run put NKU (14-9, 5-5 Horizon) within 57-55 with 4:37 to play but could get no closer. Shane Hammink and Alec Peters led the Crusaders (18-4, 8-1) with 21 and 16 points respectively.  Lavone Holland II (13 points) and Drew McDonald (10) were the only Norse in double figures.
