Game 2 Recap: Illinois 79, Northern Kentucky 64
Malcolm Hill scored 40 points for Illinois to turn back a strong Northern Kentucky effort and lead the Illini to a 79-64 win Sunday night at the State Farm Center. The Norse led by as many as eight in the first half and went into halftime up 33-31. They were tied at 50 with 9:44 to play before Illinois went on an 11-0 run that proved to be the difference. Hill added 12 rebounds to record a double-double. Lavone Holland II led NKU with 13 points. Freshman Carson Williams notched his first career double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds.
Next up for the Norse is the Tarkett Sports Classic, hosted by Miami (Ohio) Nov. 18-20. NKU opens with Austin Peay on Friday at 5:00 p.m.
