Game 6 Recap: Eastern Illinois 79, Northern Kentucky 73 OT

Cornell Johnston’s 10 points in overtime, and 24 points on the night, led Eastern Illinois to a 79-73 overtime win over Northern Kentucky at Lantz Arena Saturday night. The loss overshadowed a near triple-double effort from Lavone Holland. The sophomore point guard had 17 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists for the Norse (1-5).

Two Jake Giesler free throws gave NKU a 62-60 lead with 37 seconds left in regulation. But Johnston would counter for EIU (2-4) with a basket at the :17 mark to tie the game and send it to overtime. The Panthers would never trail in OT building a lead as large as eight.
