Game 21 Recap: Oakland 83, Northern Kentucky 70
Oakland rode Kendrick Nunn’s 33 points to an 83-70 victory over Northern Kentucky Friday night at BB&T Arena. Nunn had 11 points in the first 4:52 of the game and the Golden Grizzlies (14-8, 6-3 Horizon) led by as much as 12. The Norse (14-7, 7-2) used a 7-2 run to close the half and whittle the halftime deficit to 36-32. Oakland built its lead back up to 12 points at 54-42 with 13:34 to play in the game. The Norse cut the lead to 61-57 with 6:16 left, but Oakland scored the next five points to secure the win.
Jalen Hayes had 21 points to go along with Nunn’s big scoring night. Drew McDonald had a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds. Mason Faulkner finished with 15 points and Dantez Walton added 13. The Norse face a quick turnaround with Detroit Mercy visiting BB&T Arena Sunday afternoon.
