Northern Kentucky dropped a 76-65 decision at Oakland on New Year’s Eve. After NKU built an early 39-35 second-half lead, the Grizzlies went on a 15-1 run and were never headed. Lavone Holland II and Carson Williams had 14 points apiece and Drew McDonald recorded a double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds) for the Norse (10-5, 1-1 Horizon). Martez Walker had a game-high 21 points to lead Oakland (12-3, 2-0).
