Game 12 Recap: Texas A&M 64, Northern Kentucky 58
The upset-minded Norse came up short in a 64-58 loss at 8th-ranked Texas A&M Tuesday night. NKU actually took a 42-41 lead with 9:15 remaining in the game thanks to a Jordan Garnett three-pointer. The Aggies took the lead back and extended it to seven points with 3:53 to play. Northern Kentucky whittled that lead down to three points with 21 seconds left on consecutive threes from Lavone Holland II and Garnett, as well as a transition layup by Garnett. But the Norse (7-5) would get no closer as Texas A&M (10-1) converted free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.
Drew McDonald recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Garnett finished with 15 points, 13 of the those coming in the second half. Duane Wilson led the way for the Aggies with 16 points. Next up for NKU is Horizon League play which begins with a home contest against IUPUI on December 28th.
