Game 11 Recap: UMBC 76, Northern Kentucky 75
Northern Kentucky dropped a back-and-forth affair 76-75 to UMBC Sunday afternoon. In a game that featured 12 ties and 13 lead changes, neither team could score in the final 1:19. Lavone Holland II hit one of two free throws at the 1:19 mark to bring the Norse to within 76-75. Drew McDonald missed a jumper inside of a minute that would have given NKU a lead and then Holland missed a potential game-winner in the final seconds. McDonald finished with a double-double, 24 points and 11 rebounds. Carson Williams added 21 and Holland ended up with 15. The Retrievers (8-5) were led by Jairus Lyles’ game-high 31 points. The Norse (7-4) are back in action against #9 Texas A&M Tuesday night.
