A battle of maybe the two most-improved teams in the Horizon League. Each has improved 100 spots in Ken Pomeroy's rankings over last year.
Looking at KenPom.com:
- Norse have a 48% chance of winning
- UIC's defense is ranked 182nd giving up 104.8 points/100 possessions. They do a good job defending the two, allowing just 46% (66th ranked). They also don't allow opponents to take many threes. They are 2nd in the nation in allowing only 26.5% of opponent's shot attempts to be threes. On the downside, they don't cause turnovers and are below average in defensive rebounding percentage.
- UIC's offense is ranked 238th scoring 100.6 points/100 possessions. They turn the ball over a lot, 22.2% of possessions which is 332nd in the country. They don't shoot the 2 well (46.5% or 269th in the country) but do shoot the 3 well (37.3% or 73rd in the nation).
